Pride South Lanarkshire: Road closures:

Tomorrow, Saturday 29th July, the first ever Pride South Lanarkshire, is taking place in our area. As a result, road closures will be in place in the following areas from 05:30 to 19:00. 

  • Quarry Street (Pedestrianised section)
  • Castle Street (Town Square)
  • Townhead Street – Fun fair (Note the fun fair is not operated by ourselves).

If there are any challenges regarding deliveries, please get in touch now and we will assist where possible.

Media:

We are expecting news camera crews and photographers to attend. We also have the First Minister in attendance from 12pm on Quarry Street. If you haven’t done so already, it would be great to see the shops and businesses with Pride Flags on display. Dynamic Grafix on Quarry Street are selling flags and merch.

What to expect:

On Quarry Street we will have our community stage at the top of the street, info gazebos and stalls down the street and the Bandstand will be in operation from 12pm. Events on Quarry street will end around 15:30 with the market closing at 16:00. In the Town Square we will have our larger main stage with entertainment starting from 12:30pm Junkyard will also be operating an outdoor bar. The event is due to end around 17:30.
