A number of businesses in Hamilton are going the extra mile in the Covid-19 lockdown – adapting their businesses to be able to better support those most in need. Here are just a few examples …
The team at Junkyard – working with Amoreish, Cadzow Bakehouse and Muller to name a few – are making and delivering fresghly prepared food for deliveries to some of the most vulnerable in our community, supporting our local Nursing Homes & Pharmacies. Their venture is costing around ??1000 per week – so they’ve set up a JustGiving Crowd Funding page with a target of ??5,000. So far, the wonderful people of Hamilton have helped to raise close to 75% of that target. If you are able to help, please do so by visiting their giving page.If you need more – including their virtual events – please visit their Facebook page.
Bernie and Lynn’s
Bernie & Lynn’s alterations and dress-making service on Quarry Place have turned their hand to making much-needed scrubs during the crisis. You can find more on their Facebook page – including ways on how you can help to donate for the materials they are using.
Karen Rotchford Specialist Bridal Alterations are also supporting the NHS. As they have shared on their Facebook page: “We are pleased to say that our first lot of scrubs have been collected and they are on their way to Hairmyres Hospital. We are looking forward to receiving our next batch of fabric to start again.“
