Hamilton’s footfall increases…

Footfall in January up year on year…

Despite the challenging economic environment and local challenges, footfall continues to outperform year on year numbers. As reported, Hamilton BID area in 2024 has seen a 2.2% increase in visits to the area +143k.  In January 2025 Hamilton town centre recorded a 2.9% increase in visits year on year, the 3rd top performance in Scotland.

Our success in gaining the opening of Quarry Street for free 30min parking continues to produce results and has been an important action in the context of the town centre economy and visitor access. As per previous updates we are working collaboratively with the local authority to support the trial becoming permanent and with potential extensions to the scheme.

Footfall information is provided by Place Informatics.
