Footfall in Hamilton BID area…
Our footfall provider, Place Informatics has now reported on our total footfall performance for 2024.
The area received 143,911 additional visits to the area versus 2023 +2.2%. This significant increase, according to our provider is ahead of the national average. Quarry Street area has seen an estimated increase in the region of 3% year on year which may be attributed to the opening of the street for the free 30min parking trial.
Free 30min parking trial feedback request:
We are now 12 months into the 18-month trial for the opening of the road to vehicles. This trial was brought about through our engagement with the local authority and so far, evidence is suggesting that footfall has improved as a result.

Space for workshops and meetings:
We have gained the use of a vacant unit within the Regent centre for potential use as a community resource. Currently the facility is in use by Lanarkshire Pride for its weekly youth club, however we are exploring potential opportunities for the space.
