Parking enforcement – Quarry Street:

We have been informed by the local authority that parking enforcement will recommence shortly within the former pedestrianised section of Quarry Street after a relaxation of enforcement over the past few months. Vehicles may park for a maximum of 30 minutes for free within the marked bays as part of the current trial in support of footfall and visitor experience. Vehicles are not permitted to park for longer than 30 minutes or out with the marked bays.

23rd November – Road closure Quarry Street, Light Switch on:

On Saturday 23rd November we host the Hamilton town centre light switch on event and parade on Quarry Street. To facilitate this event safely, as usual the road will be closed from 05:30 to 19:00. This event is set to peak and finish at around 17:30. However, the road will remain fully closed until 19:00 to facilitate the safe removal of equipment such as stalls and stages.
